A Question Regarding Roommate Assignment

Hi,
So I put on my application that my highest preference was roommate assignment, and then I put down the names of two girls. The first girl and I mutually requested each other and our highest preference was a double.

However, when I got my housing assignment, it turns out that we got a triple instead. My question is, whats the probability of me getting that other girl that I put down as well? She and I did not mutually request each other; however, she and the other girl did (mutually request each other).

I’m going to presume that you are a male. If so, since when were students allowed to room with the opposite sex? If not, I am way too tired to try and figure out what you are asking.

hahaha. I’m a girl.
let me rephrase that. I put down two girls as my preferences for roommates. Girl #1 and I wanted to be roommates. We wanted a double. We ended up with a triple. Girl #2 had requested Girl #1 and vice versa, but she hadn’t requested me.

What’s the probability of girl #2 and I ending up in the same room? considering we didnt mutually request each other.

I checked the FAQ session on MyHousing web…And it says the results would be out in August…So no one knows exactly how the situation will be…Just be more patient and wait I guess… =P
