A Situation

Ok, so..

Basically my high school career has been a big mess. I changed schools a few times and ended up doing independent study due to an illness (which I disclosed to the university in a personal statement on my app, just to explain the grade trends and a rec from one of the treatment specialists). This is where I teach myself for the most part. I did end up getting accepted into a few state universities and decided on one. That said, I'm not a science person. While I have technically met the two-year science recommendation put forth by the university, I'm taking a Chemistry class right now. First semester went not the greatest, I got a C+...they know that as they got that grade before my acceptance. This second semester is not going well...at all. (Seriously, I may fail) I have the ability to drop a course without my transcripts reflecting a dropped course. So if I did this, I'd just have one semester of Chemistry. Do you think if I called and spoke to someone at the school I would be able to get this figured out? I just have the hardest time teaching myself Chemistry...and would have taken something else had the program I use offered anything else. I'm just sort of in a panic because getting revoked would obviously not be fun. Any insight on what the best course of action to take would be?

Thank you...

One bad grade isn't going to hurt you probably. I would recommend you write a letter to your college explaining your difficulties in the subject and tell them that you are not "slacking off" which they don't like.
