A Slight rustle

snipper_cr

Good for you buddy! Go for it!

snipper,

A lot of overinvolved ( ;) ) parents will be pulling for you. Maybe the doctor could write a letter explaining that this was not a professional visit?

Good luck!

Thats good news! I'm confident you will be able to turn this disqualification around, especially knowing how persistent you are and how much you want it. I'm holding out high hopes for you!

Snipper, if you end up getting in, this entire board will celebrate and there will have to be some kind of special CC party (maybe parents weekend??). I hope you will turn things around and the AFA will see the light!

Amen to that man. Best of luck to you.

Great news.

Really hope you get that denial overturned. Good luck man.

Posting a little late, had to wait for the weekend to get time to get on here.

Snipper, you are a lifesaver!! My daughter has a case similar to what you have and we were contemplating making an appointment with her Dr. to find out what was in her file. We will definitely make sure they don't put anything down as a proffessional appointment now, which we wouldn't have even thought of before.

All my fingers and toes are crossed for you and thanks again for sharing.

snipper,

Any progress? Or news? I'm still pulling for you.

Obviously DoDMERB has the answers to the questions on the medical forms to base their opinions.

What other sources of information do they have? Are you required to send them information from other doctor's?

Sorry for the long delay, i wasnt ignoring this thread but a few things came down this week and i wanted to post it all as one.

I have finally completed my final responce to the waiver authority just 10 minutes ago. Friday i finally got the letter from my former psychiatrist which was to explain the error Dodmerb made reviewing my medical dates.

The letter did more than that. She wrote me one AMAZING letter basically blasting DoDMERB claims (in a nice, professional way though), pulling her medical terms and stuff. Ultimately she wrote me a very nice letter of recommendation which again i cannot see how it will prevent me from getting a waiver (but the first one i thought the same thing).

I also included a 2 page letter from myself explaining things and hopefully clearing them. I explained how i can handle large amounts of stress from academic, extra curriculars and part time jobs with out loosing my capacity to operate. To prove this i included letters of rec from my teachers this year, employer and teachers from last year showing how i can cope with all the stress and stuff.

All i can do now is wait. I know that within me i have fired every single ounce of my heart and soul into this and came to that actualization tonight. I know that even if i do not get a waiver i have fufilled my desire to do something meaning ful with the process, even if its not acceptance. I have no regrets because there was nothing mroe i could have possibly done.

We shall wait, but cynicallism aside, i have little to no expectance for a waiver approval.

Small update: DoDMERB status changed from "Waiver Denied" to "Pending Waiver Submission/Review" Which means they reposted the info to the waiver authority.

Reeeeeaaalllly.... Hmmmm. Very interesting indeed. Advice ~ avoid all coffee, tea, cokes, & sugar this week-end. Can't have ya hurting yourself now. I can well imagine you're already binging off walls at this very moment with raw nerves. I just think that is the best news that its being looked at. Life is good on a friday. You truly have come a long way in this battle and you continue to amaze me. I think you must have been a bulldog in a previous life. LOL

We're staying right here to wait with you buddy. Chin up & all that!!

Snipper -- small consolation I know but I, too, am just so impressed by how much you have done to get past Dodmerb. I hope that somehow the powers that be understand what kind of chracter it takes to go through what you've gone through. Ironically, the kind of thing they're concerned about has already been addressed by the process itself! What stress COULDN't you handle for God's sake!

snipper,

Gotta have the chance to meet you later this year at the All-Academy Ball in Illinois. I'd like to tell you in person how impressed I am with your attitude throughout this process. You haven't given up on your goal at all and that speaks volumes about your level of commitment.

Here's hoping the update on your site is a good omen.

I have been following your posts and I am so impressed. As a former Air Force member and the spouse of a retired Air Force Officer, you reinforce the pride I have for the Air Force. You will be a fine officer.

Sniper is a true Fighting Illini!! We should start a public petition for an appointment in his honor!

We, the service academy forum members of CC hereby petition USAFA for an appointment to the class of 2010 to be given to "Sniper". For two years, he has fought to give the academy his heart & soul and we believe that he is meant to become one of "our" best & brightest. He is the epitome of what the academy stands for in it's core values and it's very foundations. He belongs and he deserves the chance to show how his determination will serve you and this country well. Please consider carefully what this review offers and we hope that you will see past the red tape and see what you truly have. A kid who is committed to USAFA.

snipper,

I'll sign Jamzmom's petition also. I sure hope somebody from AFA Admissions is reading this. Then maybe they'll let the CC SA parents have a vote.

If you guys wanted to make me feel warm and fuzzy inside and full of pride, everyone of you scored a perfect 800 with a top 10% in the class and head of a sports team!

Seriously, i didnt make the post to get praise or anything but i cannot BEGIN to tell you how you have just made me feel this morning (sorry JM... puts down cup of coffee... literally! I have a full day of Advd Chemistry II and Calc III studying today!) I know i deffinately got an amazing feeling and chocked up reading your posts.

Again i cannot tell you how much your posts mean to me. I really wish i could cause you all deserve to know but i know there is no way of actually putting into words, just thank you.

You've got my signature snipper. They've got to recognize you're quality soon.
