[Let me google that for you](<a href=“LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You”>LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You)

Ok so the latter part of your question is somewhat ignorant-thus meriting the “let me google that for you”… if you’re smart enough to get into NU, you’re smart enough to do your own FAQ.

In terms of the typical day at NU, obviously that will vary by what you choose to do. Generally speaking though, you will probably have 2-3 classes a day, 1 or 2 meetings for student groups… leaves plenty of time for studying/homework/having a life/etc.

^the above were **** moves. funny though. Don’t be so mean to us excited almost new comers!

Each class meets about 150-160 minutes per week. Multiply that by the number of classes you have and that’s how much time you’ll spend in class per week but obviously, you will be spending more time doing homework and other preparation work.

But yeah, for distros, you have to take 2 classes in each of the areas, natural sciences, formal studies, social/behavioral sciences, historical studies, ethics/values, and literature/fine arts. They’re not hard to fulfill at all and still give you a lot of room to shape your own education.

For the natural sciences requirement, you don’t have to take bio, physics, or chem. You can take earth science, astronomy, some psych courses, even some anthro courses (there’s biological anthropology).

You will learn very quickly, that Northwestern (the student body and the institution) has minimal patience for answering obvious questions.

Enthusiasm is great, laziness is not.

^That’s not necessarily an obvious question…It’s not obvious to outsiders that you don’t have to take bio/physics/chem to meet the natural sciences requirement.

Well thank you to all!

i just wanted to start a conversation and get a feel of feedback from Northwestern scholars
;)

You’re going to skip class a lot more than you want to. And know that it’s perfectly ok if you do =)

It is obvious for anyone who looks up distro requirements and what classes fill those distros.

This forum would far more efficient if 2 things happened:

My expectations are far too high, I know.
