A way to appeal Princeton Desicions?

Hi Ladies and Gents,

Congrads to all who go in and will attend Princeton in the fall! I was not as fortunate as you folks though. Princeton is my top choice school, but with rejection looks like life is taking me in another direction (UCSD). Im a big believer though that where there is a will there is a way! There must be some way to appeal the desicion, some other way to apply, some other person to talk to, and/or some stunt of epic or smaller proportions that can be pulled.

Now mind you guys, UCSD is still a world class school and deserves much credit, but lets hear your ideas folks. Let me hear some options and your opinions on the situation (Should I bite the bullet and go to UCSD, make the most of that...etc.)

Much Obliged,

Cybero

no harm in trying... just tie urself to the admission's office and refuse to eat until you're accepted.

Like davidrune said, no harm in trying, but I think I read somewhere that decisions can't be appealed...hmmm, might be Princeton...or another college. Anyhow, good luck to you whereever you go.

no it's princeton...

Ah cybero16, tough luck. :</p>

Is there any school that does let you appeal?

Actually all University of California schools allow for appeals, but Im talking about an appeal as only one possible route...Im asking for ideas and opinions here LoL, though tying myself to a tree does sound interesting, me thinks its a tad cold in Jersey this time of year

I think I read somewhere that Princeton is going to begin taking transfer students. So, if you are truly miserable next year and want a second shot at the P... I'd say go for it.

Best of luck wherever you end up!

or take a gap year like cevonia and apply ED as a freshman next year- Princeton seems to like undying devotion :)

cevonia? Do tell mon ami...But its looking like transfering may be a good option, but the whole being part of the Princeton community and the close knit campus type feel you get from being their from day one...Im afraid that would be lost.

Oh man, can you imagine going through all this again next year (tranferring)? I'd die.

Rumbean,

It is painful if one wants something too much. Fall in love with your school, wherever you are going to be a freshman, and 'throw in' that app at Princeton, and wherever else, and leave it at that. Sometimes, that casual attitude works, beleive me. Only risk is that if you are way too much in love with current school you might not leave it at all even if you are accepted. Heard it happened to someone at BU. He apparently got to love BU so much that he turned down a transfer acceptance to Harvard.

Well that's a good thing. I don't think going to a college with the idea that you will * definitely * transfer is a good idea...

my mom was just talkin about it.... to take a year off and apply again (MIT and Princeton). I know I can get in, but question is, does it make sense? I'm 18 but I've already had an year off (circumstances out of my control).. does it make sense to take another year off? I have nowhere to go btw.

...Except somewhere in my own country.

I think you should go somewhere in India. Do undergraduate and come as a graduate student.

People worry way too much about name. UCSD is a great school-have fun there, it will benefit you just as much in the long run

Princeton isn't going to start letting in transfer students until the fall of 2006 supposedly. I suggest u start at UCSD and then attempt to transfer. Best of luck and sorry it didnt work out for you at Princeton.

For everyone else, CONRATS FELLOW TIGERS!
