OK...AA stands for "Affirmative Action", or if you're British like me you'll know it as "Positive Discrimination" (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one) - essentially, it's providing advantages for people of a minority group who are seen to have traditionally been discriminated against. For example, african-americans, hispanics etc. etc.

As international students, AA generally bears far less weight on an admissions decision that it would for a domestic student...

yeh affirmative action sounds most peculiar...

so basically they are giving "back" to the people they (the caucasian americans) were "mean" to before..
wow.. sounds kinda ridiculous to me..
people of minority groups are getting advantage because of how their ancestors were treated?

i think if it was socio-economic then it would be more reasonable..
i think "affirmative action" for races.. is well a little racist dont u think?

then what is there for international students?

????????????????????????????????????

lol...there is nothing for int'l students.

ahh i wanna get my decisions already!
and people.. discuss this aa thing.. i wanna hear bout it!

silver...lol, you don't want people discussing this. it will turn into a flame war that will be 20 pages long.

oh cool thats great
just what this board needs
its really quiet and kinda boring!
