<p>Hello, guys, I was just thinking since my orientation is on August 9th, so I probably have a lot of spare time before the sememster really starts. I was just wondering if the cafeteria or student union would be open in the begining of August. If not, is there any places nearby I can go grocery shopping? And is there any activities around that time...I'm not so sure when will students normally move in..</p>
<p>I have no idea what dining facilities will be open during the summer. If you want groceries, you can take the Red Bus to Bi-lo or Ingles, the Anderson bus to Anderson and go see a movie, go to Walmart, Staples, Best Buy or whatever you want, take the Seneca bus to Seneca and hang out there. <p>Are you staying all the way through the 1st day of school? I’m going to be moving in early on August 14th since I’m a welcome week leader and if you wanna hang out before then and have nothing else to do, I’d love to. (I’ll possibly have a car next semester)</p>

Yeah, I guess I have to staying all the way through the 1st day of school. since it’ll be expensive to travel back to Oklahoma just for few days, and I probably need take some time to unpacking. I was worried about stuck in the dorm with ramen noodles for more than a week…Sure, I’ll probably contact you after I get there.</p>

<p>I don’t know yet…I guess, I should be able to do that, since I’m not from SC, and the the date for my orientation is August 9th…otherwise,I’m really stuck…I’m still waiting on where did they place me into.I called in the otherday, they said, they’ll email me end of this month or begining of next month…so I’ll find out soon.</p>
<p>My roommate went to the august orientation session as well and was allowed to stay in his dorm through the beginning of school so I don’t think there’s a problem there.</p>
<p>By the way, the summer dining hours for the dining halls have been posted in the dining halls so if I have some time maybe I’ll take a picture of the flyer or write some times down that would apply for the dates when you are here.</p>

<p>kyleram07, that’s how all orientation sessions are haha except for the last one (which purplecomb is going to), I think that’s just a one day session but they could have changed that this year.</p>

<p>I took a look at the dining schedule for the summer and Harcombe Dining Hall will be open over the summer.</p>

<p>ouch haha, Harcombe is on the other side of campus. At least you’ll really get to know the campus during the 15-20 minute walk over there from Thornhill. There’s also a bus from Thornhill to the other side of campus so you could take that if you were lazy and didn’t want to work. Harcombe has tons of food so don’t worry about it.</p>
<p>By the way, I’m living in Thornhill next year too. What building are you in?</p>
