my scl counselor went on a vacation without sending my student records to the unis and it totally sux to find it out only a few days before apps are closing :(

1) can I send my common app first wihout the teacher's recommendations and the counselor's parts attached? :/

2) would my application not be accepted if the school part of it is not in by the deadlines?

Depends on the school.
You probably can send the application.
Yes, some schools will be lenient with the supplementals.

My D just decided last week to apply to another Ivy. Of course she can’t get the transcripts, recs in on time now (due 1/4). They said just make SURE that the full application is done, and they’ll wait just a bit for the other paperwork. I mean, if you send the application, and pay for it…they may not even KNOW your “stuff” isn’t received in time. Nor will they refuse to admit a qualified applicant just because their paperwork arrived 7 days after the deadline. That is … SOME schools. They WANT all the applications they can get, they WANT your application fee. They just can’t have everyone sending everything late of they simply couldn’t make the process happen. But they KNOW it’s going to happen, sometimes. They’re JUST NOW going to be getting ALL that stuff anyway. It takes them a few weeks just to get all the data entered and affixed to the appropriate application. Many only ask for a postmark by that date (I know you can’t make that deadline either, but…they only ask for that so things are “on their way”). I just received a letter at my home mailed 11 days ago. Conversely…our instate Uni had a cut off for SCHOLARSHIPS, and specifically said, if your teacher recs are not in by the timeline (and it was a VERY short time!)…then your application is not complete and we will not consider you. However, we had a teacher like yours who did not get the rec in on time and we were able to fix even that problem.

I would do it, and not worry about it anymore. That’s all you can do at this point.
