I am going to begin my freshman year in WashU. I wonder do we have a summer reading list/program?

They have a Freshman Reading Program as a way for people to bond and have something to discuss when they get on campus. I’m not exactly sure how it works- I thought they would ship us the books, but mine hasn’t arrived yet. Can any current students chime in about this?

I will also be a freshman in the fall and Ive been wondering about the freshman reading too. Is the reading mandatory? Are all the freshman expected to have the book read?

There’s a discussion during orientation, but you can’t really get in ‘trouble’ per se for not having read the book.

During our discussion we went around and listed something from our book (about climate change) that we liked/found interesting/etc.
First experience that some people in college are completely clueless about life outside of school, but that’s a different story.
