From this June test I got 800 reading, 800 math and 690 writing with a 6/12 essay. I'm planning on retaking it in the fall (because I know I'm much better at writing than the crud I spewed out on paper on that day), and most of the colleges I'm looking at superscore. My question: is it risky for me to focus solely on grammar and writing essays? Say, for instance I take the test and get 700 reading, 650 math and 800 writing with a 12/12 essay. Would colleges that superscore punish me for inconsistent performance?

Why would they punish you, isnt the point of superscoring to give you the highest score?

Okay, more extreme example. 450 reading, 430 math, 800 writing. (Not that this will happen, but stick with me). How could a superscoring college not pay attention to that?

If you got an 800 in reading and math already, theres no way you would slip that low. Be realistic and stop worrying.
