About the academic honors section on the Common App,

What does "Because there is limited space on the Common Application PDF, please do NOT enter your information on separate lines." mean?

Wait, so how do I list my honors?

Like this? : apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries

or like this?:
apples
oranges
bananas
strawberries

"apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries" is the way to do it.

Wait, so I just list things by grouping them together? The section so far looks like this:

Principal's Roll of Honor for: ninth grade, tenth grade, eleventh grade

Achievement Recognition Award for: a class, another class, another class, another class

National Merit Scholarship Program Letter of Commendation

Does it instead have to look like this?: Principal's Roll of Honor for: ninth grade, tenth grade, eleventh grade; Achievement Recognition Award for: a class, another class, another class, another class;National Merit Scholarship Program Letter of Commendation

And in the short answer essay, can I write about what the extracurricular activity taught me, instead of describing what I did and what it was about? I just mentioned the activity and wrote about what I learned from it.

What the activity taught you is a good way to go. Let's the admissions person see that not only did you do something, you learned something from it.

My D wrote about fencing, but talked about how fencing changed her.

It depends. This is a short essay. The main essay already where you can state what experience or activity that changed you. This is your test to write very concisely.
