about the clubs

im just curious about opening a service club at my school
but wat does the service club do? i mean wat does it offer to the campus student??

thanks..

You are supposed to determine its function, as you will be starting it. Normally these clubs execute community service.

so it is neccessary for me to find community opportunies for my fellow students and more??

With help, yes; however, they will eventually find their own later.

so.. this is not a good club to open at campus

I recommend contacting a local Kiwanis or Rotary chapter if you have one. Or any adult community service organizations, they usually love to help start clubs at High schools. See if the other high schools in your area can help you. I know Key Club has Lt. Governors which are basically division leaders for all the clubs in your county. I'm not sure about Interact clubs though.

Starting a service organization is a great idea. You can use common methods of gaining service to fulfill hour requirements in your club as well as finding new and interesting projects. Service clubs actually offer a lot: leadership training, a large network and possible promotion to larger positions if it is a nationally organized club, and of course opportunities for community service.

I think that Interact clubs have partner Rotary clubs that help set them up. The Rotary club that I am involved with (they are sponsoring me on a student exchange next year) is trying to encourage me to start an Interact club at my school, but unfortunately, I am too busy to start such an endeavor my senior year. Rotarians are really nice, though, and they are trying to get more young people interested in their club, so I think for the most part they are thrilled when high schoolers take an interest and they are really helpful.

BoredPirate had a great idea. This way, you can get guidance from an established club and you can work with adults as mentors. However, your heart has to be in a club that you start, so keep that in mind and think hard about what you want your club to be.

thank you for all ur advices !
