Sooo...yeah. I just got waitlisted from GT, which really sucks.
Anyways, do any of you guys know how admissions selects people from the waitlist? Is it more chronological (first come, first serve), or do they look at who seems the most qualified? Also, would any of you happen to know the statistics of past years waitlists?

Thanks

I feel you man, I got waitlisted too, and I only applied to few and GT was one of my top choices… I believe it’s on their needs to fill up their quota, so like if they have less Georgia Residents or females than they intended, they’ll accept georgia residents and females on the waitlist. I believe until couple of years ago the waitlist acceptance rate was quite good around 50%, but someone mentioned that last yrs stats were horrible – mere 7% were offered admission from the waitlist. GT has become too popular…

Remember, they would only admit from the waitlist if the yield were lower than expected. So if the yield were as expected or higher, they may admit 0% of the waitlist.

Please repost on the GT forum.
