? About which scores they take, & this "composite" score thing

I thought that private schools (not the UCs) take your BEST scores from each of the sections, so lets say if you took it 3 times...on 3 diff dates and got

1st time:
700 critical reading
800 math
750 writing

2nd time:
800 critical reading
790 math
780 writing

3rd time:
730 critical reading
730 math
800 writing

you would have a "2400 composite"? All my friends are telling me that they take the best OVERALL on any one date...but I thought that's only the UCs. With the scores listed, would that person have a "2400"? (though he didnt get it in ONE sitting)

Please clarify this for me. Thanks in advance.

The person who gave the tests would have a 2400 composite score. The adcoms take the highest scores in each section , so the person would have a 800-800-800.

it would be a 2400

for UC schools they only count highest single sitting score

Let's say I got 800 on certain section and later got 600 on the same section but in different test. Will the adcoms be suspicous? or will they completely ignore 600 and take 800 since they look at only the highest composite? I mean, such a big drop won't likely happen, but just in case.

heh, it would be kinda suspicious, but i don't think they'd act on it at all.
an 800 is an 800.
