Hey, I'm not sure if my school has absences on my transcript but since school started in late august/ early september, I have 4 absences because I didn't know you had to sign in if you're late ( I was new to the school but yeah, it was a pretty stupid thing to do), 2 for math olympiad, 1 for having to attend a function and 5 for MUN... So I have 12 absences and a couple lates... and my school year is made up of 180 days. Could this hurt me?

no, it should be fine.

also, its pretty unlikely that your absences are on your transcript...i haven't heard of many schools that do that.

As long as it didn't hurt your grades, colleges probably couldn't care less about absences. After all, they were all for ECs so they should all be excused. And the ones that weren't for ECs... you could have been sick or something. They won't care.

It's not the end of the world so long as you don't have any discipline problems or high number of detentions your transcript.

My school does absences on a per-class basis, and last semester I had 22. :)
Appendicitis will do that to you.
