I've scheduled my schedule for next year, and I'm at a bit of a loss as to which class I should be taking. I know I should follow which class I really want to take, but the problem is that I want to do both. I can't take both, due to scheduling conflicts. The only problem with AcaDec is that it requires me to stay at school until 5:30, and it may conflict with Debate tournaments, I take zero period debate so I would be at school from 7-5:30. With newspaper none of this would be a problem, but I would not really be challenging myself, and I know I want to do Acadec more. Any suggestions?

Academic Decathlon. Most definitely.

I participated in it last year, and it's probably one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. I was in newspaper too, and it was nothing compared to AD.

But if you have background experience with journalism, you could do the freelance thing and write for the paper occasionally. Ask the newspaper staff person for information.

I think you answered the question yourself.

AD. Don't settle for newspaper if you want to do something else.

thank you i'm takin acadec!

Yeah I've always wanted to do Academic Decathlon...alas, my school hates intellectual things ("Book Club?! Nobody reads books anymore"-principal to my mom asking about why it got cancelled)
