Academic Degrees and Possibilites

So according to the registar, an undergrad has the possibilities for:

1) BA OR BS - typical
2) BAS
3) Dual BA and BS
4) Other stuff that I'm not too worried about.

What I'm wondering is:
If you major in two areas that ultimately lead to, say a BS, would you just graduate with a double major and a BS degree? But if you major in two areas that lead to separate degrees, you would get a BAS - because that falsely appears that you have done more work than a BS grad with a double major?

Perhaps my bachelor degree understanding is flawed - I believe that to receive a BS, in say psychology, you would need x psychology units and y outside psychology units; a total of x+y is required for a BS degree in psych. Additionally, if you wanted to second major in chemistry (which would give u the same BS degree), and that required a z amount of chem units, you would need x+y+z units to get double major within the same BS degree. If you wanted to do your second major in art instead (which would initially grant you a BA) and that required v art units, you would need x+y+v units to get a BAS degree (since psychology and art are part of different bachelors degree), but this makes the BAS student appear to have earned a higher degree than the student who doubled major in chem and psych, who probably did just as much work.

I think I recognize that (keeping the initial psychology major that requires x+y units) for the second degree in, lets say, arts again (which would require v arts unit and w outside art units) a total of x+y+v+w units, non-core units being not overlapped.

Please help me correct any misconceptions I have; I would personally like to double major/dual degree in economics (which is a BA track) as well as psychology, specifically neurobiology (which is BS track). If I get into stanford, a feat in itself, i would be about 2/3 done with my freshman year w/ ap credits and so I want to know for my academic plan, which path would be the most lucrative.

Thank you VERY MUCH!
