Academic dishonesty disclosure

Hi , during my freshman year, I copied a portion of my peers homework and got caught, resulting in a 0 on the assignment, but still got a decent grade in the end. I still got a academic violation but it’s not shown in my transcript(it’s in my conduct record tho). So I’m applying to the grad school of the same undergrad school, in the application, question asks” “Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended since the/after the completion of high school (or the international equivalent) to the present, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in your probation, suspension, removal, dismissal or expulsion from the institution? “

Should I answer yes or no, since the incidence doesn’t result in “ “probation, suspension, removal, dismissal or expulsion from the institution”, can I say no ?

Make sure that the event wasn’t registered as a “probation”. Ask at your school. Don’t assume.

Better to ask now. Worst case you explain it up front on your grad school app. Best case, you confirm that you are clear. In both best and worst cases, you move forward without having to worry about the past.
