academic exploration at NYU

I got accepted to the college of arts and science at NYU, and I'm wondering how easy it is to take courses in different colleges like Tisch? Can you easily cross register or whatever?

Bump..............

I am currently a student at CAS, and I was able to register quite easily for a dance elective class through Steinhardt. I'm not exactly sure how easy it is to register with Tisch, cause I know some of the course schedules aren't on Albert (our course registering system). When you meet with your advisor to get cleared for registration before the registration period starts, I'd advise you to ask him/her then, and they will be able to help you get the necessary codes and stuff to register. You are only allowed to take 16 credits in a school other than CAS. (the other schools have different policies to this, but CAS says 16 credits max)

there are open arts classes and closed classes, it gets pretty complicated. But basically intro level classes generally have openings for non-school students, the more advanced classes do not (Although you can get the professor to let you in if the class isnt full). This is the main problem with gallatin that they cant get into the really advanced classes.
