Academic Forgiveness/Course Alleviation

Does anyone know the policy of Academic Forgiveness/Course Alleviation?
I am looking to “forgive” some of my past grades because it doesn’t reflect the student I am today (AT ALL!!), however the grades I am looking to “forgive” were at a school I went to in California but I now live in Colorado and the school in California requires you take 15 semester credits and get a 3.0 (which I have accomplished). Do these 15 credits have to be taken at the same particular school (the school in California) or does it matter? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

From what I understand, academic renewal policies are specific to each school, so you may want to speak with an advisor at the California school you previously attended. My guess is that they’ll tell you that you must take the required 15 credits from them specifically. That said, you may want to find out if they have an option for online classes and if they would qualify. That way, you could work toward academic renewal from Colorado if you wanted to.

Also, a few poor grades early in your college career is not uncommon. Many students struggle in their first semester, then improve with time (as you have). Unless you are wanting to improve your GPA for a particular purpose, e.g. grad school programs, then I wouldn’t worry too much about your past performance, especially since you’ve turned it around.
