Academic probation at one UC - barred from others?

Hey my friend is using my account that has a unique situation:

He left UC Riverside after two quarters with a 1.8 GPA and a few F's in classes that are no longer offered there. That was over three years ago and since then he's worked and maintained a 3.8 GPA at his CC and has a cumulative GPA of around 3.4.

He said he's barred from applying for the TAG at any of the UC's, but was wondering if this extends to regular admission to other UC's as well. He really doesn't want to go back to Riverside and has a good enough GPA to attend a different UC, so the question is:

If you leave a UC on academic probation or bad standing, are you automatically barred from being admitted to any other UC? (Even if you are at good standing at your previous institution (a CC) and have a cumulative GPA that is far from academic standing)

I’m not sure what constitutes good standing, but part of my provisional admission conditions for UC Irvine is:

Dont know for sure if the other UCs have something similar in their provisional transfer contracts but I’m pretty sure my other acceptances had something along those lines.

Regardless, good luck to your friend.

Yeah, that doesn’t look good. I’ve been searching around and it looks like this rule might only apply to UCI and UCLA. Does anyone know if it’s the same for the other UC’s?
