Academic Renewal- CSU

Hey everybody I’m new to this forum
I’m 19 years old and currently a 2nd year California community college student planning to transfer to a CSU.

My question is do cal states accept academic renewal from transfer students…?

I know UC’S do but I’m not too sure if CSU’s do though.

I ask this because in my first semester of college (Fall 2013), I failed an Intro To Math Analysis class and it has had a pretty big impact on my gpa ever since.

I haven’t got a clear answer on this and I would like to know so that I could know whether or not I should retake the class or apply for academic renewal when the time comes to transfer.

Anyone who has knowledge or experience regarding this issue please help me out.

I’d really appreciate it.

Yes, CSU does accept accept academic renewal. I believe that you have to wait about a year from the date you finished the class in order to file for AR, at least that’s what happened to me. It all depends on your school so ask the CC admissions office. I just got accepted to SJSU and I had about 5 F’s (stopped attending classes and i didnt drop), but I filed for AR and it took away all F’s and boosted up my gpa. Thank God for AR, It will definitely help when applying to CSU/UC. Good luck.
