What's the policy for this? Say someone got a bad grade in a class twice, took it a third time... all at different colleges and got an A does it override everything?

I believe Academic Renewal clears one quarter/semester's worth of grades, at least from my "research." Pretty beneficial if you had a rough time one semester and want to "start fresh." Not so much if you got like, straight A's aside from that one F.

yah it wipes all the grades for one semester, including As...

but yah its really nice if you had 1 bad semester

in your case if it the bad grades were received two separate semester, you would only be able to use academic renewal on only 1 of them.. but than nothing though

so i can replace it at both colleges? when i got the A from the 3rd college? cuz i just read the application and it doesn't state the terms for academic renewal. however, i did put all 3 of the classes on the UCapp.

There's very specific conditions that you have to meet to be eligible for Academic Renewal, so consult your CCC's counselor and ask for their guidelines.

At De Anza, you can 'wipe' more than one quarter, but it has to be consecutive, and at least 2 years have to elapse between the quarter in question and today.
