Does anyone know the date Auburn awards non-resident academic scholarships? I know Presidential have already been awarded but it looks like I qualify for heritage and I heard they would be given out mid-December. I’m not sure if I should be worried because I haven’t heard anything yet…

I know my daughter just beat the Dec. 1st deadline and she received her notification for the OOS Presidential this Monday, Dec 14th. I’m not sure about the Heritage. I’d say if you beat the Dec. 1 deadline, and meet the guidelines, you should be OK. You can always call them if you want reassurance. The scholarhip department number is: (334) 844-7570. They have always been very helpful when I’ve called. Good luck!

Thanks so much! The only way I can attend Auburn is with a scholarship so I’m a little anxious.

My daughter received notification for Heritage this past Tuesday in the mail. When I spoke to Auburn last Friday (before receiving it), they mentioned the scholarship notifications were sent bulk mail. According to Auburn staff which I talked to, if you had not received your scholarship notification by January 1, then call them after that date.

oh okay, thanks!

Our daughter is anxiously waiting for her scholarship notification too. She qualifies for Heritage as well. Apparently they take longer b/c they are sent bulk mail and contain a certificate? We just received an invite to Talons Day (for scholarship recipients) so we know something is on the way - but still don’t know if it will be Heritage or Charter. Does anyone know if Charter Scholarship recipients also get invited to Talons Day?

When I called Auburn they said those scholarships were not coming out until January but I had seen other places that said mid-December so I have no idea when they are coming. I qualify for the heritage scholarship and have not heard anything from them. Then again, I am from Maryland and am currently snowed in.

Hmm. Everything I read said mid-December and my mom emailed them a few weeks ago and they went with mid-December also. Maybe they’re behind schedule?

Scholarship information received here in FL on Saturday along with Talons Day.

I just got an email from the scholarship office. They said mine went out on Dec 10 but it probably hasnt arrived yet due to the holidays and that if I haven’t received it by Jan 4 to give them a call and they would send another copy.

Hi, I just received a notice for being invited to Talons day but I haven’t received any notification about an actual scholarship yet. I qualify for the Heritage scholarship. I’m just confused about Talon day and if it actually means that I got the scholarship and just haven’t received notification yet. Do any of y’all know if the heritage scholarships were awarded yet?

Hi! I have the same thing: recieved invite to Talon’s but haven’t recieved any info on getting a scholarship. what’s up? how do i find out?

I’m from California - it looks like I qualify for Heritage and possibly Presidential? I have no idea how this works?

Academy_Girl and OHtiger91 - receiving the Talons Day invite is good news. It means you must be receiving either a Heritage or Charter Scholarship. As you can see from this thread, it appears that the notifications were shipped out by bulk rate mail on December 10. Since this is the holiday season, it’s taking awhile. There are a bunch of us out here who are anxiously waiting along with you.

thanks for the info! I wasn’t even sure what Talon’s Day was : )

not to sound stupid, but for the heritage scholarship, when it say “2/3 non-resident tuition”, does that mean that a non-resident recipient only has to pay 1/3 tuition (and the award is 2/3 tuition)? or is the award only having to pay (as a recipient) 2/3 tuition?

if that makes any sense at all???
hahah sorry, this is just a major $$$ concern for me - especially since out of state comes steep at about $34,000

^^^^^You pay only 1/3 tuition…

my heritage came yesterday! the envelope was damaged though and about half way open so i guess it had a rough trip.

charthelatte - Congratulations on your scholarship to Auburn. War Eagle!

thanks so much!

Regarding the 2/3, 1/3 - I believe this only applies to tuition and has nothing to do with room and board.
