If I am on the quarter system....and will not know for sure what classes I'm taking in Spring quarter until about the end of Winter Quarter (loooooooong after the TAU is due...), what should I do? Going by just my major, I know there will be two classes I am taking for sure....but that only gives me 8 units for Spring Quarter. I'm not worried about units, because I should have all 90 including AP credit. My problem is, will they think I'm attempting an easy course load? Should I just write a note in additional comments saying that I will try to complete at least 10 units in Spring (because actually, if I don't, I won't get any financial aid for the quarter!). Also, when I do know what I'm taking, should I call them up and let them know, or is that only for people who had to drop or failed something? I'm trying to do an intercampus transfer if anyone has any experience with that part of the application process. Thanks!

I don’t know what the official policy on this matter is, but I can tell you what I did. I don’t have any classes that I need to take for spring 2012 (prereqs or GEs), so I just put 12 units with the course title"?". I then explained that I didn’t known what I would be taking, but that I would be taking over 12 units (to stay a full time student).

That spring part is really only used to let applicants show what important classes (prereqs or GEs) one
plans to take in the spring so that quarter students are not at a disadvantage. Make sure you report any important classes you plan to take, otherwise I don’t think it matters much.

I’m on quarters too. I had a similar dilemma. I know two classes I need for sure but not one of them…so just put down a random class I wouldn’t mind taking. I figure they must let you update, since it’s possible we don’t get into a class or something. As long as we finish GE and major prereqs, I can’t imagine it’s a big deal to log back on and change it later. It’s not really built for systems. There’s no much else we can do.

I’m intercampus also. So what if we don’t get into the courses we want for the Spring qtr that we initially have written down in the Transfer update? Do we contact UCs thru the accounts that each UC has given or do we write a letter or something along the lines?
