Not sure if anyone will be able to answer this, but thought it was worth a shot before bothering admissions with it. Kenyon offers academic scholarships (that you don’t need to apply for) and talent scholarships (that you DO have to apply for.) If my daughter applies for a talent scholarship (worth 15,000) will it hurt her chances of being considered for an academic scholarship (worth up to half tuition?) I think she has a chance at a good academic scholarship, yet would would also have a shot at a talent one too. Just afraid if she applies for the talent one she won’t be considered for the academic scholarship. Any insight or experience?
@2manycollegequestions4me - we wondered the same thing last year. We asked our local admissions rep and she said that it applying for a talent scholarship would not preclude you from being considered for a merit scholarship. My D17 applied for a writing scholarship (I think) and didn’t get it. She did however, get a 15K merit scholarship.
@thinmints Thank you so much for the info–And congratulations to your daughter!
Did she end up attending? If so, how is she liking it?

@2manycollegequestions4me – she is not attending Kenyon. It wasn’t at the top of my D17s list (there were better fits for her elsewhere as a Pre Vet/Biology major) and we were not that excited with the merit offer.
I think you should pursue all of the aid opportunities the college gives you.
