- Even if it's an appropriate topic about the social life of college, people will still find ways to find the negatives about having fun at college. I know that studying and working hard is important, but you need to have a balance of work and play. If you work too much, then that's good for you and your grades. If you "play around" too much, then you'll either get bad grades or get kicked out of college. Understand that college isn't all about academics, but it's one of the most important things that will help you once you graduate someday.
- When you live on campus, then you obviously have to pay for room and board. I don't understand why some people go home every weekend when they're paying to live here. I understand if you had a family emergency or something came up, but for me, I will be staying on campus during the entire semester except for my birthday. I also understand that some people enjoy going home for the weekend, but just remember, you'll be only paying to stay during the week. Even then, it will help you grow up as a person if you lived on your own or with a roommate if you went home less often.
- I noticed on this site that I have gotten some praise and hate from certain members on here. I know that everyone will not agree with me, but I feel like whenever I post something on here, I speak the truth and from past experiences. Even though that one of my posts on here might've been inappropriate, I've learned from that mistake. Whether you like it or not, understand that our society today doesn't like to face the real truth. I'm like George Carlin, I speak my mind, some people like me, and the others tell me if they think something is wrong with my post. I appreciate all feedback, but I believe that this world needs more people like me. I might have some issues now, but I'll be working on them throughout my life because there's always something to work on as you grow up.
2 - They pay the same rate regardless of room use, its a sunk cost and non-issue. Maybe they have a sibling or parent that is going through something and want to be home. Not everyone adjusts to college or lives the same lifestyle and it’s really not your concern what other people do on weekends. I do not think less of my coworkers who travel on the weekends simply because “they are paying rent anyway, they should stay at home.” People generally also go home less as they progress through college.
3 - Stop worrying about what anonymous strangers type about you.
2 - People do what suits them.
3 - People are entitled to think what they want. Quite often, I find that they aren’t thinking about an outside issue/person at all, as they have their own bubble of interests to think about. Lives are directed based on what we each think about ourselves and what kind of person we decide we want to be.
“I believe this world needs more people like me”
For someone who seems to care a lot about what others think, you have made a statement that is probably a turn-off for most people.
