Hey cc,
I’m an incoming freshman looking at courses, and I was wondering how hard “accelerated” classes are, specifically Spanish 1A/2A and Math 41 and 42. Thanks in advance!

Accelerated language classes, in my opinion, aren’t too incredibly difficult. To get into them, the University requires a placement test or knowledge of some other language in the same family. But to put it in perspective, the regular Spanish track will finish the Intro to Spanish textbook over the course of the year (split into 3 quarters) while the advanced Spanish track will finish the textbook in just two quarter. That means roughly 2-3 extra chapters per quarter which isn’t too much.
If you’ve taken Calculus before, definitely take Math 41 and 41 (if not the 50 series). But really, the accelerated math courses are difficult depending on your previous knowledge of math.
