Sooo i was admitted into ucr under the basis i would pass my stats calls. well during the middle of the semester i realized that i wasnt going to pass so i called up ucr and spoke with a transfer counselor... he told me that as long as my gpa for the semester was a 2.0 or higher, which it is, i would be fine. well 2 days ago i got an email that my acceptance was being rescinded. i spoke with my admissions counselor who said i should have gone through him to begin with -_- and pretty much he told me that all i can really do is appeal... ive turned in my sir and all my housing stuff.
HELP PLEASE :(((

If stats was your transfeable math class then they would rescind you for sure.

Your best bet is try and take stats at a summer session but i don’t know if thats too late now.

Theres always next year

I have heard of applicants in the same situation but they were told that in order to keep their admission they had to take the math class over during summer. I definitely would have spoken with more than one person.

sadly ive been out of the country and didnt even think to sign up for a math class. i was told that i would be able to start in the fall so thinking that i didnt register for the class, even tho i did take summer school.
so i turned in my appeal letter to the school on thursday and im just waiting back to hear. im so scared. what do you guys think my chances are?

You may have some problems. You knew you were not going to pass your Statistics class halfway through the semester and you knew it was one of your transferable math classes so you could not transfer to UCR without completing it. If that was the case the only logical thing to do was cancel your trip abroad and take the statistics class during the summer.

You really only have two things in your favor: (1) You were given and relied upon incorrect information from your transfer counselor and (2) UCR is not a popular destination and they may still have a spot for you after they have accomodated all the transfers who met the their transfer conditions.

yes i could have canceled it but after being told i was going to be fine and could retake the class anyways i wasnt about to cancel the trip you kno. and thing is ive turned in my sir and payment for housing so its not a case of do they have a spot rather then if they want to give me the spot.

I don’t want this to sound bad or anything but maybe you can try next year for a better school (maybe UCSD or SB) if the UCR appeal doesn’t work out…

If I were to look at your appeal, I would reject your admission just because you didn’t complete the transferable math course (which needed to be taken if you wanted admission to any other UC). I don’t think you have much of chance if all you have is misled information… sorry but I hope I’m wrong…
