I just got a likely email today! I applied to CC and wasn’t offered an interview.

im starting to feel as if every1 who will be accepeted is getting likely letters…
I’m getting a bit wrried, I applied to seas nd havent got one yet

I applied CC

awesome, more likelies :)

I got a likely tooooo :DDDDD
(from columbia college, not fu)

(and yeah, I didn’t get an interview either)

I got a likely from columbia college today. 1 hour after someone responded to my file update.

I wish Columbia would give us access to the admitted student page like Stanford does.

Columbia’s still sending out likelies? :/

How many of you likely recipients applied to the engineering school?

Interesting, so they started sending out likelies in Feb. I applied to CC, got likely today.

I assume they don’t call international students?

Are these via email or snail?

The latest ones have been sent out by email, and are followed by a physical letter

At the risk of sounding like an arrogant jerk (which I promise I’m not), does anyone else think these are “lesser likelies”? It seems odd that Columbia College read all of our apps for the first time (without even seeing progress reports) this late in the year. I’m just curious though. I’m still incredibly thrilled to get a letter in the first place, even if my app went through two reads instead of one.

^ does it matter? it’s a likely letter. no reason to worry about whether the adcoms think you were slightly less qualified than earlier likelies, since you got in anyways :p

No, it doesn’t matter, haha. With the exception of the date you find out, letters in early February, letters in early March, and letters in early April are all the same. I just remember thinking that the letter’s content didn’t make sense when considering that Columbia would have only 20 days to go through everyone’s midyear reports and decide the rest of it’s class. So, I was just curious if anyone else had the same impression. I’m surprised and thrilled to get any sort of letter though, so feel free to ignore one of my many random, pointless questions.

holy *ing *cakes! i. got. a. likely. HOLY ****.

i JUST checked my email and got a likely, and have been jumping out everywhere… oh my god!!! I love you all! :D

Out of curiosity, did you all who received likelies today have great mid-year reports (as good as previous grades or better?)

My friend just got a likely letter today from Columbia. He had like 1520/1600 and is 2nd in the class. He was also both an intel and siemens semifinalist

AnnaSmith-I got a likely today but never sent a mid year report! Ahh oops was I supposed to? When/how?

^Lol, I guess you should anyway. I was just wondering because I was sick before the quarter ended and have very low grade (it was explained and that an update will be sent), on my midyear report, and it’ll get fixed next week. So, I was wondering if colleges would take that into account when I send an updated transcript, and whether I could get rejected because of a bad midyear report. I guess the midyear does not count as much then if you have other stuff?
