Acceptance letters.

I still haven’t received mine yet :frowning: I have a 3.9 almost 4.0 GPA and I took Saturday Live courses for 3 years at FIT. I live in Jersey and I believe my essay was pretty good. Hopefully it comes soon, this waiting is unbearable.

what is your major?

I got in for fashion design.

The batch of letters that people received on around Mar. 18 was for a select group of students. The letters that we received a few days later were for the students who got into the Honors Program. Everyone else gets their letters and we also get our official packages on April 1.

Thanks k1k2k3, I can only wait now; but I will come back to this forum ecstatic if I get accepted.

My major is FMM. 4 more days…

**** YES! I got in! I am guessing they loved my essay and my millions of extracurriculars and background! I heard people were rejected from my major with higher unweighted GPAs than me… then again, I took almost all AP and honors and got into the top 15% of my class, but I digress. (Sorry, don’t want to sound pompous because my stats aren’t too impressive) I AM JUST SO SO STOKED. Congratulations to everyone else, I hope you are all as excited as I am.

I got in :)

CONGRATULATIONS collegier and alilovesfashion!! So glad the wait is over for you, it was truly torturous!

Have you made the definite decision to attend? My daughter is between University of Delaware and FIT, leaning very, very far over to the FIT side. We will visit both this week.

So I still haven’y gotten a decision letter and its two weeks past their cutoff date. Is this a bad sign???
I e-mailed admissions and all they said was expect a letter in the next few WEEKS. I dont know if i can wait that long. I’ve been accepted to a school in Cali but really wted to go to FIT. Is ayone else still waiting on a decision. My major is fashion design…

nista94, when did you complete your application, it may have something to do with that. I think they said the first batch that went out was to the applicants who were in by the deadline in either January or February, don’t remember exactly the date.

The April 1st notification date wasn’t a cutoff date technically because they can notify you up to the May 1st decsion date. If you look at their facebook page you will see people posting each day, so the letters are still going out. You probably have until May 1st to let the other school know, so hang tight and hope for the best, good luck.

Daughter has finally made her decision to attend FIT. So glad that process is over, it was so stressful. The admitted student day was alot of fun and very motivating and the interactive forum with current students in her major was very informative.

As we left the bookstore with T-shirt, car window sticker and coffee mug in hand I asked her if this meant she had decided to attend FIT? LOL.

My son received his letter on March 29 for Design. FIT was his first choice but also accepted at his 3 other schools…Parsons being one of them. Got in with a 2.86 GPA, no AP, only extra curricular was track. I would have to say it was purely on the strength of his portfolio and the interview. He has loads of talent but now the real work begins. No slacking.

Hi,
Im an international student and I recently applied to FIT. I submitted all my papers in may. How long does it usually take for the admission decision??? Thanks in advance.
