How are acceptances first released (status check vs. email)? Also, is there a set time of day when decisions are typically released? Thanks!

ut general admission decision is first reflected in the website (status check)

I am fairly sure status check changes only during the business day, so once you check it at 7 p.m. one day, it’s not going to change til after the next business day starts. (No use checking again at 9, 10, 11 p.m. or 1, 2, 3 a.m. - resist the urge.)

where on the status do they talk about the decision? Also, will they just say that they’ve made their decision or say if we’re admitted or not?

Im pretty sure they will tell you clearly that you have EITHER been ADMITTED or DENIED-----
BUT i also had a question concerning the admittance notification you receive in the mail… if you get accepted is it a big envelope/package that comes?? or is it just a regular sized envelope??

I have heard if you get a big package start getting disappointed because you just got CAP’ed (texan residents only)

What about OOS??

You will get your answer online way before you get anything in the mail.

Your on line status will either say you have been admitted to x school (School of Undergraduate Studies/College of Liberal Arts/whatever school you are admitted to) or it will say something like “sorry, we are unable to offer you admission at this time.”

OOS acceptances start showing up before OOS rejections start showing up.

Oh alright thanks, and lastly do you know around what date OOS will begin to be notified? and i know that some kids with perfect SAT’s and ACT’s know early but for all the others who have not yet heard is there a set date? and if not what would be a close guess??

Anytime in the next few weeks

Do applicants to different schools usually hear back at different times? For instance, in this past week I have heard of several fine arts applicants being accepted. Do applicants to Engineering hear back at a different time than applicants to Liberal Arts or anything like that? Thaks

Yes, students applying to non-restricted majors usually find out earlier since UT has rolling admissions. Students applying to restricted majors (business, engineering, communication, and athletic training/ kines.) often find out later, especially if they do not have top stats.

anyone have an idea when the computer science applicants find out?
