Or will they make us wait until we get our official rejection letter in the mail so they can tell us "nicely"?

Most colleges that have online status checks will only say four of the following: 1. incomplete file 2. currently being reviewed 3. decision complete 4. accepted. But, UT says they will post the decision on the page. How long doe it take for them to make a decision once you have applied? Thanks.

Yeah they post both decisions online, whether it is rejected or accepted.

Does anyone know when the rejections will show? Is it after everyone is accepted?

The talk around this forum is we should know between Monday 9th and next Wednesday 18th... and checking this Friday - Wednesday would be your best bet...
I've heard that some people have already gotten rejections - though it seems like there are still a lot of people who are waiting for their decision. I think they may hold off posting rejections a little until all the applications are reviews (or most all of them..) but we should definitely be finding out very soon..

How do you think they do this acceptance/rejection thing for non-top 10%? Since they use a formula to figure out if they should accept you or not, do you think maybe they assign you a score after reviewing your application then after they're all reviewed they take the top like 3,000 (for the aprx. 1500 spots...) scores?

Just curious =-/

educate, thanks for the update, I will checking again soon. As for your question, I know very little about how Texas does it's admittance process and I don't think I can answer your question. Sorry. Best of luck to everyone!

rejections, like acceptance notices, will show within 24 hrs of your admission decision. (don't bother checking your status over the weekends though, trust me, they all go home at 5 on Friday afternoons)

When I was accepted a few years back, I found out via internet status...the letter showed up about a week or so later.

If you are all applying for Freshman admission, then you should be hearing back soon, but the process could go on until April. (particularly if you have been admitted) If you are applying as a transfer, you will not know until May.

There is no 'set time' for when your decision will show after you've applied. I know it sucks, but you just have to wait it out. The admissions officers have to wade through thousands of applications and it takes quite a bit of time.
