I found the number of deferred EA applicants Yale admitted RD last year: 249. With a total EA applicant pool of 4049 and a deferral rate of 42.9%, that means that the acceptance rate for those deferred is 14.4%... much higher than the "regular" regular decision applicants :)

Yes, that does provide a little ray of hope if I get deferred. But that doesn't mean I won't still be disappointed!

hey that's good news. kind of. i'm running a perfect score for deferrals on the predictions game

Where were you able to find that information?? Just wondering... ~berurah

My dad found the same information by searching through old ASC newsletters.

that is verrrrry hopeful :) it makes me feel a tid bit better... should i get deferred, its not hopeless after all

berurah, I found the EA Deferred Applicants admit total from an ASC newsletter (http://www.yale.edu/asc/newsletter/index.html)

Well that's only natural i woudl think. EA applicants are generally stronger, so when they get deferred, it gives them an immdiate advantage over the... "lesser" competition.
