Acceptance/Rejection?

We got our letter yesterday and although my son had to read a rejection, it was worded so very thoughtfully and extended such a great message of hope for his future aspirations. Nick was very encouraged by the audition process as well; thanks Dr. John for the short but memorable encounter. Your students are most fortunate.

Is it worthwhile for my son to consider auditioning again in a year as a transfer student?

MTaussie - congrat's! So happy for your son, and it sounds like the perfect place for him.

I sent you an e-mail and was hoping to be in touch. We met your son and husband on the audition trail this year. I think your husband said that your CC name is linked to an e-mail you don't use much or maybe no longer use. You can write me by clicking on my name and choosing the e-mail option.

My son got to dance with your son at an audition this year and said that your son is an incredible dancer. My observation is that he's also very friendly and cute! I think they may be looking at the same summer program.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It's painful to have to turn down so many talented and deserving kids. But as I said in my post about Numbers ("Colleges for Musical Theater-Part 40," post 454, 2/3/2006), I do believe that there is a place for everyone who wants to do this.

VikkiE, please write to me directly. Even if I knew for sure which one was your son, I'd want to respond privately. Every situation is different. Thanks.

A few of you have written to me, and I want to apologize for not yet responding. This is the first week of the spring term, and I've been a bit inundated with start-up tasks, including final rehearsals for the senior showcase. We do it here on campus Friday night, and then at the York Theatre in NYC on Monday and Tuesday. But I will try to get to your e-mails today and tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.
