Acceptance Thread

They said decisions in November, hopefully we're not being that unreasonable.

I doubt online will be faster than snail mail, the way things are going.

My MSU application simply said "A decision has been mailed", and that was AFTER I got the mail. So, keep checking the mailbox.

It's more fun like that anyways!

it'll be online first, i promise.

and you're letter will have the date as being the date you found out online.

What does it say when you get in online? Does a new link pop up? All I have is credentials and application data.

bump .

when you get in, next to that app details link and the view credentials link, a new view decision link appears and its like, "congradulations, blah, blah, blah" and there is a lil video for you to watch. it's pretty exciting stuff.

I think the frist batch of people will come from people who had their app complete by August-September. I was talking to the admissions office and this is what they said. They said the decision should come out sometime in November.

Oh no. It's hard to believe that they had enough people complete by then to do that. I sent my app in September, but it wasn't complete until 3 weeks later because of their computer problems, sigh.

Call them up to confirm this .

Why call? Check the blog or podcasts or something. Is it so important to know whether you'll get an email or mail first? Do you need to know which group of applicants may hear first?

It is very important to know when you applicantion is going to be reviewed if it is a rolling admissions school.

I don't understand why that is so important? What does knowing change? How does knowing which week they think you'll get your decision alter your application's chances if you've already sent it in? It is what it is. Calling them to ask about that stuff pulls your counselor away from doing the very thing you want him or her to do: review your app.

FYI: when you call the admissions office it is not the admissions conselors that pick up the phone. It is usually kids working in the office that answer questions.

Accepted transfer winter 07

FYI, there has been discussion on campus that the volume of calls has been interfering with the processing of applications. Whoever first answers the phone, there has been involvement from admissions counselors as well.

I agree that people shouldn't obsessively call, we should just let them do what they need to as efficiently as possible, I just wish that they could alleviate some of the mystery from it. You should understand our anxiety, I can't just not think about it.

Bump. Post acceptances here please for the general welfare of all of us.

just check online.. got accepted as winter trasnfer
