<p>Okay so I had given my first preference as engineering. But when I got accepted into UCI they changed my major to undeclared/undecided! Does this mean that I cannot learn engineering at UCI? Please help!</p>
<p>My son has the same scenario. It means they did not accept directly into the Engineering program. You still take the core requirements, but you will need to petition for change of major at some point. Not a guarantee, but if you do well early, you can still pursue engineering. It may take longer than if you were accepted directly to engineering.</p>
