Accepted at UC Davis, some questions

I was accepted to UC Davis last week and had a few questions regarding the conditions of acceptance. In my UC update form back in January, or whenever it came out I stated that I would complete math 227 (statistics) over summer in order to complete my math requirement.

I checked the form on UCD's website, and it had my plans to register in the class for summer 09 (right before transfer).

The strange thing though is that on my conditions of acceptance it says this: Complete the following transferable math course(s) you reported in your application or application update with a grade of "C" or better by the end of spring term: MATH 227 with C grade

Do you think this is an error, or will my acceptance be rescinded? When I sent in the update form, it had my current Spring classes, and my future summer schedule on it, so nothing changed on my part. If they read my info correctly, its obviously not possible for me to complete math 227 over spring since i registered for 125 over spring.

Any ideas?

Your best bet is to call them and find out.

I am not an expert. But my advice:

Call or email the admissions office and state your concern.

If necessary, show proof of enrollment and proof that you had stated it would be taken over the summer in your initial application. Do not fuss, but do take a bold stand saying that they approved your admission knowing it was not possible for you to enroll and complete this class prior to the end of the spring semester.

My personal belief is that as long as it is done before enrolling and you can fast track the transcript to them as soon as possible after the sumer course is complete they will not have a problem (meaning speak with your current CC, and tell them the situation as well)

Hope this makes you feel somewhat better, as I think the only solid answer you can get is directly from admissions

I think since they made the mistake, they shouldn’t blame you. I’m kinda in the same situation, I’m completing my Statistics class, but during Spring (right now) which was a requirement stated in my contract (upon being admitted).

Just give them a call…good luck! [:

Thanks sakurax and everyone else who responded.

I figured it shouldnt be an issue, since I did not change anything-- they had all of this information already. I emailed them… hopefully everything is okay!

Anyone else have similar experiences/ any ideas? Should i be okay?

Calling them would be better. By phone they would tell you directly. [:

For what it’s worth:

I was accepted to Davis. However, I dropped my critical thinking class this spring, and enrolled in a class this summer instead. I informed Davis of my change, and they sent me an e-mail telling me that I would just have to complete the class in the summer. Was not rescinded, and the mistake was mine. I think you’ll be fine, just let them know.

Major: neurobiology
GPA: 3.64

called in, all is fine :)
