UCSD Acceptance Question

Hello all, i got accepted into UCSD, however I had reported that I was going to take Calc 2 during the summer semester, however my cc isn't offering any summer classes. So i can't take it, however i still will have over the 60 unit requirement. Will this rescind my application at all. I got super excited that i got in, and now im nervous that i will get my admission revoked.

I wish there were people with real experience who can give you more accurate infomation, but I don’t think they will revoke the decision just because of that. I remembered seeing some lines on the UC application site saying that we should try to complete all the requirements by the end of spring and not assume that we could take more classes in the summer. So I think they don’t even care much about what you will take this summer. Since they have decided to offer you admission based on the credits you have and will have earned by the end of spring semster, as long as you complete 60 units, I think you will be fine.

I also listed a course that my CC isn’t offering during summer, but since it’s not a prerequisite for UCSD, I don’t really worry. However, maybe the best idea is to see if other CCs offer this course so you can take it. Good luck!

Yeah, i figured the same thing. I cant classes at all now because i got this internship so idk. I submitted my change so I’ll let you know what happens. If anyone else has any info we all can appreciate it and use it.

Exactly. There must be a few people out there facing the same problem due to the buget cut. Do you think I should submit a change too, even though I have completed my IGETC and 60 units and that course is not even required?

It’s not exactly your situation, but I asked a UCLA admin rep if I had to complete my planned Summer coursework, and she said that UCLA does not, under normal circumstances, punish students for summer coursework; you will, however, be required to complete more lower division courses upon transfer.

So does anyone have any concrete details? Or is this all up in the wind?

You were suppose to finish 60 units by the end of spring, I don’t believe you are able to take summer classes to finish them.
