Can my Fall 09 grades get me rescinded? I updated my UC application back in January or so with the grades that I received. As long as I do what is stated in my conditions of admission, I should be fine, right?

1 0 c h a r

If you updated the grades on time then they have the information and made their decisions using it. If you do what they say, yes you’ll be fine :)

FutureAggie: Did you get any grades lower than a C? Is your cumulative GPA still a 3.0? Did you drop any classes you said you were going to take?

In the fall, I had a 1 dropped class, 2 D’s, and 1 C. I am currently retaking one of the classes in which I received a D in. As far as the other D goes, I submitted an explanation to UC Davis about the course and how it isn’t a prerequisite for my major or an IGETC class. My GPA dropped to a 2.79 after the fall, but it was shoot right back up over 3.0 after this spring semester is over.

Damn…that’s super sketchy. If I were you, I’d call and ask.

If they had that information in January, then they made their decision with knowledge of those grades. Just meet the conditions in your acceptance letter and you’re in! Congratulations.

FutureAggie: I don’t mean to worry you more, but according to the TAG and admission condition you can’t have anything lower than a C even if the class is a prereq class or not. If it is transferable you need a C or better.

"Complete all transferable courses in progress or planned with a GPA of 2.80 or better, with no grade less than “C.”

“If you receive any grade lower than “C,” or drop any course(s), you have failed to meet your conditions of admission and must immediately submit an explanation to our MyAdmissions Web site, along with your plans to repeat or make up the course(s). If you have previously informed us of your “D” or “F” grade(s) or dropped course(s) by mail or e-mail, you will still need to provide an explanation at this Web site. You may not drop or withdraw from any course(s) reported as “in progress” or “planned” without prior approval.”

Re-taking the class does look good but its no guarantee that your admission will not be rescinded. I am also in a similar situation except my fall grades were OK but I received one D last quarter (winter) thus I have broken my TAG contract. However, UCD isn’t my top choice so I am not as worried although I did provide an update on the Davis academics updates page.

But I just realized now that UCD would have seen your fall grades already before making their decision. So at least for fall your grades shouldn’t be a problem. But I would call a UCD admissions rep just to confirm. How were your winter quarter grades?

Thanks for the help. I will be sure to call and make sure everything is okay. We only have fall, spring, and summer at my community college.
