The chance of receiving an A+ depends on the professor. Some profs do not give A+, some reserve it for the top 1-2 students or, if the class has no curve, you might need to get a 98 or higher....or be over 100 points. I only received 2 A+'s at Cornell....both in non-curved classes.

It can be harder to obtain an A- or higher in science classes....as they are usually curved to a B-. The material isn't overly difficult....you just have to be on top of your game b/c to get an A-, you need to be 1 standard deviation above the mean (ex. the standard dev on an orgo prelim is usually 18 points). I do know that biochem is curved to a B+ and micrbio has no curve.

Oh okay, I didn't see it the first time around but I'll check again. My credit evaluation was really weird anyways - they gave me credit for electives instead of major requirements - so I'm going to call them on Monday.

If they made a lot of mistakes on your credit evaluation...you might want to wait until you arrive on campus and make an appointment to speak with a HumEc registrar. CALS made some mistakes on my eval and I tried to straighten it out on the phone....and they messed it up more.

Yay for your NetId! I was finally switched to alum status in the Cornell directory and lost a lot of my NetId privileges....I'm still in mourning :(

I swear I feel like I have had an ongoing headache ever since I got my NetID, it just makes me feel like there is so much that I should be doing that I am not aware of

I finally sent out my acceptance coupon today, but I still haven't received my financial aid package. I'm definitely attending Cornell, so I couldn't wait until the last minute when the FA package finally comes in. I'd rather have a guaranteed spot in the upcoming semester rather than miss out due to a delay in receiving a package I'll receive anyway, even if it's late. I just don't think the FA office will send anything until after January 5th, when it reopens. Then assume it takes a few days to be shipped. It's too risky to wait. I'm just hoping they do their best at determining aid with all this time they're taking to finish. Maybe they'll be more generous. :D

Has anyone (Spring transfers only) received their FA package yet?!

All the forms that are on that website someone posted the other day. Additionally, some information on various things like financing your education, cornell's installment plan, and health insurance.. Not much else besides that.

I sent my $400 deposit weeks ago. Still no netID. How did they deliver it to you? Via email? Cornell Bound Packet? (which I have yet to receive!)
