Ok, how do I turn in that health history form that's required of us, supposedly by today?

Wait, how can require things to be in before January 9th, the date they said they we need to tell them by. I haven't officially accepted their offer yet because I haven't received the financial aid packet.

Ahh, whoops. I actually found the answer to that. Yeah, it's not due today. It's not even due until...January 5.

Here's the link to the place where we can turn in the forms. I got to log in with the ApplicantID and what-not...

Thanks for that link! Definitely will help me out since I probably won't be depositing until pretty late since I am still waiting on FinAid (and they still say one of my forms is missing, but I sent it almost 2 weeks ago and faxed it thursday, so it probably just hasn't been processed).

Hey, does anyone know what the blue highlighted part of your credit evaluation means? It says "Items in blue indicate the filled portion of unfilled requirements" What does that exactly mean? And what's the difference between Humanaties & Social Sci.s and Humanities & Social Sci.s Explanation?

Courses in blue suggest that they partially fill a requirement; ie if you only took English I, it will show up in blue because you still haven't taken English II.

Items in red indicate that they are completely unfilled. The "Humanities and Science Explanation" is just an explaination to the "Humanities and Sciences" requirement(They put in a catogory by itself because they couldn't fit it under the "filled" section, I guess). It tells you what you need to take to fill the Humanities and Sciences req.

Items in black indicate that a requirement has been completely filled.

How are you guys' financial aid situations turning out. Generous? What do they provide you with once you have turned in all of your online/mailed in forms? Pamphlets?

~Thanks

I haven't gotten my finaid yet...

None here either

did anyone get credited out from the freshman writing seminars?

No FA yet.

Yes, I got credited out of one freshman writing seminar, not both. For transfers, ENGL 2880/2890 (what my friend @ Cornell calls Expos) can be used to fulfill requirements.

Any news on FA yet?? My god they are slow.

I called the FA office earlier today and the person on the phone said the FA people are not done doing the final review for my FA. She also said there's no definite time frame, but she said it'll be done hopefully by next week. I'll just wait until the mail comes next week, as my sending the deposit is "contingent" upon that FA decision.

you can find out if you have any FA on studentcenter.cornell.edu. But this is if you have your netID I think.

No FA here yet either. I was hoping for it before Christmas, but doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Yeah...and they'll be out starting either today or tomorrow, I think...out for a week.

Perhaps by the 9th of January, we'll hear something...

Anyways, happy holidays to all of you!

My thing tells that I will graduate in jan 2011. That means I will only have four semesters at Cornell. In this time I must complete 16 course (by fiat), which implies 4 courses a semester.

Isn't four courses something like death at an institution like Cornell? And I'm not talking about merely passing these classes.

I plan to take
Theoretical Linear Algebra with Calculus 4cr
Some Freshman Writing Class 4cr
Intro French (or the class after it, if the test works out) 4cr
Intermediate Macroecon 4cr

If I were to take these courses at state there would be no problem. And now with work study + competitiveness of ivies, will this be tough? Would introductory french at CU be tougher than intro french at state?

Just b/c your transfer agreement says you're done in Jan 2011 doesn't mean you need to finish so soon :-) I entered Cornell with enough credits to be considered a 2nd semester sophomore and finish in Jan 08....but I wanted to stay until May 08.

4 classes per semester isn't suicide. I took around 5 each semester and did well.

Ok, thanks. I just wonder how hard it will be to get A+/- at Cornell. My previous univ didn't do +-, so I got no background whatsoever.

Don't be afraid here&now, classes aren't THAT hard. There's definitely a degree of exaggeration with the difficulty of courses at Cornell.
