accepted/ denied uf transfer fall 2011

I overheard a girl talking in my class today about how she just found out on Sunday that she got accepted. She applied to CALS for Summer B with a 3.1 GPA. She also said that she had a meeting on Monday with one of the admissions advisors (Emerson) in CALS and the lady she spoke with told her that they are wrapping up summer applications and should be moving on to Fall apps soon. I have been waiting since December and I haven’t heard a single person get into CALS so Its nice to know they are moving along. Slowly…
Just wanted to let you CALS people know! :)

this is all killing me too- crazy how long it takes. I’m a history major with a 4.0 from FSU- though I’ve only spent one year in college and half of my credits come from AP/CLEP, so I’m not sure how much they’ll care about the gpa.

My main problem is housing- I need to know soon because apartments in Tallahassee are filling up and I’m supposed to be rooming with two friends if I don’t get in- they’re really riding me on giving them an answer soon.

Unfortunately, the admissions folk at UF are not the most conciliatory of folk.

I GOT IN !!! CHEMICAL ENGINEERING SO EXCITED THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT !!! To all thoes who are still waiting plz dont give up

I agree. The UF folks aren’t as friendly once you’ve already applied. Maybe Dartmouth was right (jk).

ACCEPTED!!! CLAS Economics, 3.8, 4.0 pre-prof yay!!! But I start in like a month so the rush is on!

Then again, who knows.

Who is tired of waiting… ME!! That’s who! :frowning: This stinks.

Got accepted this morning! Applied to clas for criminology! Good luck to everyone!

Congrats wadi3rid! Did your status change this morning or could it be possible that it updated over night and you just didn’t check until today? Just trying to see what times they update status’, or if it’s just random.

I checked last night around 11pm and it wasn’t updated then and I checked this morning at 10 and I was accepted so earlier sometime in the middle of the night or first thing this morning they updated it. Good luck! The wait is awful but like everyone else said so worth it once you find out.

Gatorgirl210 you’re just as obsessed as I am trying to figure out time and status changes LOL

FINALLY the international department is done with my transcripts and forwarded them to CDCP, I spoke with somebody at the school of architecture, and she said that all the advisers are busy looking at applications, and usually they make a decision within two weeks from receiving the application materials.

I haven’t seen anybody in the forum besides me applying for any construction related field, but if there’s somebody in here that applied for architecture, interior design, landscape arch, construction mgmt. etc… just wanted to let you know that you should have a decision two weeks after the college receives your materials. We’ll see if that’s true, they received mine last Thursday, let’s see how long before I get a response.

Well, I sent my application at the end of December and at the beginning of February it was referred to CLAS for a final decision. They’ve had all my transcripts since January…so I don’t think that the 2 week rule is true lol. But you’re very right, I am definitely obsessing over all this. It’s so stressful!! Hopefully we find out this week.

gatorgirl,
i hope you find out soon! i applied for clas on feb 27th and they got my transcripts in the first week of march. my names at the beginning of the alphabet so maybe they start at the beginning? good luck!

Maybe, I have no idea. I’m at a loss when it comes to how UF goes about the admissions process lol. But thanks, I hope I do too!

Aaaha @gatorgirl210 and @kttn2103, I too have definitely become obsessed with the status update times. People have said they’ve seen updates after 5 or 6 pm and then after 10pm and then the morning. I don’t think they ever update in the middle of the day. I just can’t help checking every 15 minutes I’m around my computer because the advisor for the school of theatre told me I’d find out this week and he’s the one reviewing my application. That was two weeks ago that he informed me and in general I think they do attempt to stick to a two week rule within the department itself. Here’s to receiving decisions this week–even better, acceptance letters!! Good luck everybody and congratulations @thedreadedwait, @collman2, and @wadi3rid!

Well, finally my app got updated to say it’s being evaluated and sent to my college for the final decision. I’m just glad CALS will get it soon.

Gatorgirl, the lady I spoke with was at the college of design and construction, so I’m assuming she was only speaking for that college, I wouldn’t think it also applies to CLAS and CALS… it seems almost everybody applied to one or the other. I don’t think there’s nearly as many people applying to my college, than there is applying to yours… But then my transcripts were stuck for almost TWO months at the international department so it would onlhy be fear for it to be stuck at the college of architecture only for two weeks -I hope …they might be as confused with my transcript as the other people were.

running out of fingernails to bite as a stress relief

Is anyone majoring in Poli Sci and go to Santa Fe C.C.? If so, can you tell me which professor would be best for taking an online course, Zelaya or Price?

HopelessGator, I messaged you a couple weeks ago to be weary about who you pick for online courses (specifically because I took Price online), but maybe you didn’t get it. Don’t take him, trust me. You can message me if you want specifics before you make your decision, I just don’t want to publicly bash anybody on here, lol.

HopelessGator, I have been meaning to message you about that as well - don’t take Price. I am going to give you lots of details in a private message.
