I know that we have to withdraw other applications if we are accepted under early decision. I applied to UChicago EA, and the decisions are released on the 18th. Is there any point to withdrawing my application now, or is it okay if I just wait until the 18th and reject an acceptance if I get one? They've already made the decisions; it's just a question of notification.

Please don't give me a lecture on application ethics... if withdrawing my application now will potentially allow someone else a spot, I will not hesitate to do it. I just don't think that will happen if they've already made decisions. Please, if someone knows the case is otherwise, correct me.

First, wait until you received your documentation in the mail from WashU (the green binder). Then sign the contract and send it to WashU. Then withdraw your applications from other schools within a reasonable time. Withdrawing from UofC on Dec 18th is not going to be an issue.

wondering how the withdrawal process works…I applied to U of M early action. If I am accepted, should I call them to let them know that I will not be attending?

Yes, I suggest communicating with the school you are withdrawing your application from in the method they communicated to you. If they notified you online and sent an email, I would notify them by email. If you have been accepted and they tell you how to communicate your decision (letter/form or online), follow that.
