lol thanx. yeah u made it sound much better than it was. they sent me one of those “we are congratulating u because we chose u of all the students to attend nyu poly if u apply now!” and i thought it was kind of a gimmic. a lot of skools here do that too but none that ive ever considered. here as in cali. and u defended ur skool very well ; ] however its probably too late for me to apply now anyways but i probably would be able to move there anyways even if i did apply (cuza my rents). u said u can take classes at NYU…? how does that work? do they limit u, and have u ever done that? do most kids do it?

It is a gimmick lol. But lots of schools do it, like you said And we have rolling admissions so you’re not late haha. If you want, maybe you could wait until other decisions come in and then see if you don’t like what you got an apply to Poly in the spring. It gives pretty dec financial (merit) aid…better than NYU’s too, haha.

No, they don’t limit you. You register normally, aka online, for classes at NYU. And when you have the classes, you commute there. No real limits. I think they ‘recommend’ that you wait till sophomore year so you don’t overwhelm yourself with the 15 minute commute or whatever it is, but that’s too easy to bypass. Almost no kids do it cuz we have cool music/art classes at Poly, and it’s comfortable here…ya know? Also, we were politely warned, for our GPA’s sake, to not take many liberal arts/science classes at NYU. We’re on some sort of a scholarship, most of us :/

But again, like I said, NYU is better than Poly in several obvious respects, like reputation, if that’s important to you.

whoa, when i was traveling, it definitely took more than 15 minutes. i was going back and forth between the two campuses this semester as a research assistant. it’s at least 30-45 minutes, factoring in waiting for the train and walking to campus. the subway near there (A/C? or A/E) takes you to the west side of campus. even taking the F and getting out at Lafayette Street and Houston forces you to walk ten minutes to the main campus.

the other guys in my group always poked fun at me when i left, saying that i was returning to “the promised land” at WSQ, since there are way more girls at the NYU WSQ campus. haha.

oh maybe. I didn’t ever walk from the station to the campus. I just totalled up the time from Jay St - Borough Hall to 4th Street. You can take A/C/F from Jay St. I don’t think the subway ride is THAT long though. It’s the second stop into Brooklyn, right after High St. So it’d be something like:

Jay St > High St > Broadway-Nassau > Chambers St > Canal St > W 4th Street

LMAO yeah missamericanpie. the ratio is like 83% guys, 17% girls at Poly.

61% women, 39% men at WSQ! whoo!

that’s a win if you’re a guy.

if you’re a girl, go to Poly.

although, it gets kinda freaky there.

washington square park

wow i just realized that i messed up my title again lol its supposed to be “from the past.”
