Accepted Students Class of 2019 Discussion

@swimad‌
Okay, that’s what I thought. I have about the same SAT but I didn’t get that much money. But I am instate so that’s why

I got an OOS scholarship of $7500 a year. 2060 SAT and 30 ACT. My school doesn’t rank but it is a very competitive private school.

@mort1005 When did you apply and did you just get a letter or email today?

How did you all find out? I thought you didnt find out until Feb 15

@Patriotlaxer27‌ - some of the people who receive some of the larger scholarships find out a Dec/Jan. Everyone else gets their notification letter around Feb 15th

Daughter accepted today with a nice scholarhsip. OOS

I applied December 3 and just got my acceptance letter a few days ago! It must be rolling

Is there any other way to see if you’ve been accepted besides the packet that is mailed?

There’s no online notice so getting the packet is the only way to find out if you’ve been accepted or not

@mort1005 and @3anddone Were the scholarships the same as estimated by the Net Price Calculator. My daughter completed her application in mid-November with reasonable stats. Hasn’t heard anything yet.

Did you pick a specific major?

@ceelee14 Mind if I ask if you got and merit scholarship?

@daveverdo We didn’t do the net price calculator. It’s strictly a merit scholarship. Hope that helps.

My daughter applied to Clemson in Aug/Sept. but hasn’t heard about her acceptance yet. I thought notification came for everyone mid Feb but many students are saying they are receiving their letters. We are OOS. Not sure if that is the delay or she may not be getting in?? Anyone know why some are getting notified earlier than others?

From what I can tell @adtuck, those who have been notified already are the merit scholarship winners, and the big ones too (some posters are saying 10k+ per year). I’m out of state as well; I applied only recently though

A general question I have: It seems to me that if you didn’t apply by Dec 1, you ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for merit money no matter what. A quote from the site: “Students who wish to be considered for Freshmen Academic Recruiting Scholarships should apply for admissions by December 1 and complete the admissions process by December 31.”

I’ve read on the Clemson site both of these explanations: that it is priority CONSIDERATION on Dec 1, and that OOS are not considered for merit AT ALL after Dec 1. Is this true? I applied on the 12th Dec.

@3anddone I just asked because the net price calculator also estimated merit scholarships. I was just trying to see how accurate it is. Thanks anyway.

@feartheENGR‌ it is a combination for both - December 1st is the priority deadline for admissions (if you want to be notified of your acceptance around February 15th) and it is the ultimate deadline for scholarships provided you complete your application by December 31st.

When they say priority notification Dec 1st, it is referring to the admissions early notification deadline. The scholarship deadline is Dec 1st.

Do they send an acceptance emails as well?

No everything is communicated like it used to be - the united states postal service lol

I received an acceptance email about a week after my letter in the mail

^There is some contact by email but you’ll likely find out via the mail first if it’s like past years.

@daveverdo Yes, I did receive a merit scholarship.
