Accepted to Summer B???

Hi all
Son was just accepted to UF, but it says for Summer B. No other explanation, so we are not exactly sure what that means. Does he have to take classes in Summer B in order to take Fall classes? Is he in that weird no Fall rotation? Thanks for any insight.

S also accepted for the summer. From what I understand you are a normal student but just start earlier in the year during the summer. We have heard that students who started in the summer loved it, but aside from that I’m can’t add much more insight. Congrats on the admission!

Yes, students starting summer B are regular UF students. 9 hours of summer work is required to graduate from UF so it’s a great way to work on the requirement and get to know the campus before the crazy activity of fall.

Not a bad thing at all. You start a little earlier, get used to campus, meet new friends. And like Melissa said, you have to get those hours in eventually. Congrats!

Thanks everyone. He is happy to be accepted. The issue is he was selected for the US Navy SEAP engineering internship this summer and was really looking forward to the experience (and the pay). I wonder if there are any waivers or if he could do online courses. He will have 51 hours through a Florida community college at the end of this semester, if that makes any difference.

I know someone who was accepted to Summer B last year. He wanted to work during the summer, so they called (admissions I think?), explained the situation, and got him to start in the Fall. You could certainly try that too. I’d wait a week or more, though. They’ll be swamped with questions this week.

@Trisherella Swamped :wink:
