Summer B Questions

Hello,

I have been accepted into UF Summer B. I understand that I will go to UF 6 weeks before the fall semester starts, but after that am I on the Fall schedule? In other words, will I ever have to take summer courses again after the first 6 weeks? Will I graduate at the same time as everyone else?

Thanks!

Thinking about switching from Fall to Summer B, glad you started this thread! Does anyone know if you can do Summer B classes ALL online?

@CrashandBurn3 I’m 90% sure that, depending how well you do in the Summer B classes, you end up on the Fall schedule as well. I also heard that since that it’s only usually two or three classes (that’s required) for Summer B, you usually still end up graduating at the same time as everyone else. But I’m sure you could get ahead if you wanted to.

Summer B is a 6 week duration on its own and then Fall semester begins about 2 weeks after Summer B ends. UF requires its students to take 9 summer credit hours in totality so unless you take all of your 9 summer credits this summer you’ll have to take some more summer credits again another summer.

My son did summer B and thought it was great so when my daughter applied this year she also requested Summer B. Since Florida schools require that 9 credits be completed during a summer term prior to graduation it’s a great way to get familiar with the campus, make friends, etc before thousands of additional students show up for fall. And yes you go next to fall term just like the other students admitted for fall. My daughter will take 2 classes she is interested in (6) credits and hopefully role into fall with a both a few A’s under her belt and a lot of confidence on campus. She is so excited to go!
