When I applied to transfer to a UC I intended to take 6 classes this spring semester to complete my 60 units. I decided to drop two of the classes and only take 4 because I started my first job to help my mom with bills. I just got accepted as a transfer but I am concerned about them rescinding my admission. Should I be worried? What am I able to do?
Yes, you should be worried. Transfers are required to have 60 units completed by the end of spring semester. In your post you don’t say you are planning on taking the classes during the summer but without 60 units you flat-out are ineligible for admission at a junior transfer. Furthermore UC says on a page you were expected to read
If there are changes to your academic record: If you add or drop a course, fail to earn a C or better in a course or enroll in a new college after you submit your application, log back in and update your information online. If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. After you apply | UC Admissions
Had you stayed in front of this and contacted the UCs where you applied then it might have gone smoother. They could have extended an offer with the requirement to finish those 2 classes over the summer. Now you are in a year where they have a record crush of applicants & large waitlists, so they might be less inclined towards leniency. And annoyed that a junior-level college student did not follow instructions.
But that doesn’t mean there is no hope. I suggest you contact each campus where you were admitted to explain the circumstances and see if their admission offer is still valid. Hopefully they all get back to you before June 1st when SIR are due. I wish you luck!
