BBECKER - unless your paperwork gets lost, you are definitely in.

My cousin had been wait-listed and after her guidance counselor explained her medical situation to admissions and they saw her excellent first semester senior grades from a top prep school, she finally got her acceptance this week.

Lol thank you.

Thats great! congrats to her!

Its kind of bothersome because sometimes that go on during your high school years that affect your grades, are things admissions is not really interested in knowing.

bbecker you defintely will get in. dont doubt yourself.. be optimistic come on!

^ Congratulations!!

very nice.

It will suck if I get accepted into the school and not the film school, I haven't been called for an interview so I'm pretty sure I'm not in.
(There's always UCF, I guess.)

kfrizzle theres alot of other great film schools out there. whats your stats? NYU, USC, and alot more..

lol@ unless paperwork gets lost. It did!!

Sorry to jinx you! Try to get the name/phone of an admission person you talked with and that they know you turned everything in on time. Just keep checking with them to make sure that everything arrives. I guess if all else fails you could get a sealed copy of the transcript and deliver it to the office in Tally yourself.

My friend was just transferring from Penn State to UNC Chapel Hill and he had to call everyday to verify that the paperwork was faxed over to UNC.

Defered from December admission block, GPA 3.0 ACT 25, SAT 1140 Sent in midterms, 91 average all A's on core courses. I had 3.4 Junior year.

Any comments?

I guess I have to wait now until March 28th

Hang in there and try for another session. How about Summer? I have not seen any deferred students later accepted; but keep trying.

Thanks, the Greens over at Peterson's site comment that somewhere between 20-30% of deferals get in, especially those that show they are continuing to excel in their senior year and raise their overall GPA and test scores. I guess if that wasn't the case they would be just stringing kids on.

At the visit last summer they told us if you apply for the fall you have automatically applied for the summer, but if your accepted for the summer you had better come and not bother showing up in the fall if you didn't show-up for the summer session.

I saw your response to the other question about Priority housing number vrs admission's extended. From a curiosity standpoint I looked up last years data again from the FSU common data set:

C1 Total first-time, first-year (freshman) men who applied 9,061
C1 Total first-time, first-year (freshman) women who applied 13,389

C1 Total first-time, first-year (freshman) men who were admitted 5,590
C1 Total first-time, first-year (freshman) women who were admitted 8,426

So they admitted about 14K from about 22K applications, so if the number given of about 3200 for that individuals housing priority does correlate to admissions they were about 25-30% of where they were last year when he got his decision. Seems to make sense as they are very selective in the early blocks of admissions.

I have to wait till then too, they're having problems getting my transcripts for some reason.

applied got a conditional acceptance that i go for the summer term but im going to do it. its only 6 weeks.

SO you got for summer and thats it? or you go for summer and your performance determines if you can stay?
